Perception is reality.

Cal Schrodinger's future looks bright - a future he plans to share with his bride-to-be Joelle. But grief and anxiety over his mother's recent suicide, an unconfessed infidelity, and an ongoing estrangement from his father begin to unravel Cal's reality, pulling him down into a bizarre world of delusions and disturbing nightmares.

Working with psychiatrist Dr. Carly Brighton, Cal makes slow progress to a state of normalcy. But Cal begins to discover that there is more at work than mere emotional anguish and anxiety. As Cal and Carly begin assembling the pieces of the puzzling world they see, they each see their own life and their understanding of the world around them begin to fall apart at the seams, threatening not just their own well-being, but the safety and security of friends and strangers around them.

Cal, Carly, their friends and an expanding circle of innocent people are drawn into a nightmare dream world that has everyone involved questioning the very nature of reality and their place in it.

While I have written in just about every venue in which the written word is used, "Deep Purple Dream" is my first novel.

Rumjack

What makes a hero? Ethan Foster is about to find out. Alone and lost in the squalor of Five Points, a slum notorious for it crime and disease, he finds himself at odds with the Whyos - the most notorious of New York City's street gangs.

He soon meets up with Ada Parker and Elliot Shepherd, who believe they have it within their power "to begin the world over again," and take down Boss Tweed, his corrupt Tammany Hall political machine and the street gangs that bring in the votes. But first they need Ethan's help.

Is Ethan just another vagrant, a lonesome traveler on the lost highway? A criminal vigilante? Or could he perhaps be the world's first "steampunk superhero?"
